She stepped into the morning. The sun slanting through the window blinded her with its hot brightness. She breathed in deeply – expanding the tight band around her chest. Her movements were lazy and fortuitous. She lathered up her hair; the scent of rosemary, lavender, lemon and ylang ylang rising on the steam. She stepped back, raising her head to the cascading water, and listened as the memories of the night drained at her feet.
